Production (Song Composition)

The song was recorded in the music room at my school.

The room was set - up:

We set up 2 condenser microphones on both sides of the piano, for superior recording quality. We then used a single condenser mic with a pop filter in front, to reduce unwanted sounds when recording the vocals. The two microphones allowed us to have more flexibility in post production, so elements like pan can be introduced into the final song.

The first thing we did was test out the recording app. I played a demo of the song's tune of the song, whilst testing out which metronome to use that was most appropriate for the pace of the song:

We ran the condenser microphones into "Frostrite audio interface",  which allowed us to plug XLR cables directly from the condenser mics. From the audio interface, we took a feed to the laptop and recorded audio into an app called "Garage Band". This allowed us to edit the audio signals in post production.

After that, we recorded straight away because we were in a time constraint considering we did this during lesson time.

First, we recorded the piano for the whole song, the sound was picked up by the two microphones on both sides of the piano:

There was bits of cutting done on the spot, I would say it was a little rushed. However, we recorded vocals straight away after that:

As it turned out, we had to re-record the vocals on another day because the app had issues and made the audio sound way off.

That is all for the whole production process.

I added these details in the "bio" of the video because it's conventional videos that I have seen artists release.
I also made up my own music recording company, E.C. Major © 2024 Cruzscendo Records Inc.
To add more authenticity and professionalism in my work.

The final outcome: Letter 2 him
